STORYFOUNDRY™ / A CLARITY METHOD FOR THE AI ERA

Rebuild your organization's messaging from the story underneath it.

You have rewritten the About paragraph six times and none of them sound like you. The problem is never the paragraph. It is the story underneath, which nobody has written down. StoryFoundry teaches you to write it, then rebuild the working pieces from it.

The Throughline

Five steps to make sure what you say is authentic, and sounds human.

You walk away able to say what your work is for, plainly enough that your whole team can repeat it, and every page and pitch you write after that has a center to hold to.

1 / ORIGIN

Origin

How you came to see what your organization is for. Not the founding date. The moment of recognition.Matters more now: AI content has no origin.

2 / TENSION

Tension

What your audience is stuck on that no one else is naming. The ache they carry without language for it.Matters more now: AI defaults to resolution.

3 / MISSION

Mission

What your organization actually does about the tension. Specific enough that no one else could write it.Matters more now: AI cannot tell purpose from output.

4 / PROOF

Proof

A specific outcome, a specific person, a specific moment. Evidence you can do what you just said.Matters more now: AI hallucinates evidence at scale.

5 / INVITATION

Invitation

What the reader does next. Not a generic call to action. One specific next step, made obvious.Matters more now: AI calls to action all read the same.

Meet StoryFoundry

What StoryFoundry is, in under two minutes.

A short introduction to StoryFoundry: what it is, who it is for, and why clarity is the work that still matters when a model can draft anything.

Prefer to skim first? The two ways to learn are right below.

Two ways to learn

Learn it live in a cohort, or at your own pace.

Same method, same facilitator, two containers. The Workshop gets you there quickest. The Trailhead goes deepest. Many practitioners do both, in that order.

Live cohort

The Workshop

One live session, about three hours, with AI in the cockpit. You write your Throughline and your Lead Line in the room, then draft the start of your Field Kit: your rewritten boilerplate paragraph and a one-page Story Brief. A clinic two weeks later is where the field results come back.

What you leave with

A working Throughline, the message assets it produces, and a credential to show for it.

Your Throughline

Five sentences in the right order, written for an organization you work with. This is the source your messaging gets rebuilt from. The first version needs refinement. The structure does not.

Your Field Kit

A rewritten boilerplate paragraph, a one-page Story Brief, and three translations: a homepage opener, a grant proposal opener, a board-deck opener. Working copy, ready to use the next morning.

The Engine

Your prompt library, loaded with your Throughline, so every future draft starts from clarity instead of a blank page. The language holds steady whoever is writing and whatever tool they write with.

A clear next step

The Workshop leads to the Trailhead for deeper practice. The Trailhead leads to the Forge for ongoing peer review, or a scoping conversation if your organization is ready for a Build.

Finish the Trailhead capstone and you earn the StoryFoundry Narrative Practitioner credential, issued and verifiable. It marks that you can run the method, not just describe it.

Who it is for

For practitioners inside organizations that have to say something specific, soon.

If you work in communications, marketing, fundraising, or leadership at a healthcare organization, an advocacy group, an association, or a purpose-driven team, and you sense that what your organization says and what it does have drifted apart, this is built for you.

Maybe you have rewritten the "About Us" paragraph six times and given up on all of them. Maybe your team's content sounds like it came from six different organizations. Maybe a funder asked you to describe the work in one sentence and the answer came out blurry. The Throughline clears that up. You sign up as yourself. No approval chain required.

The facilitator

Every StoryFoundry engagement draws on decades of experience.

Vince Tardy spent over twenty years leading content, brand, and UX teams inside large agencies before founding Rural & Co. in 2024. In that time he watched good organizations struggle to explain why their work matters. StoryFoundry is his fix: a repeatable way to find the story underneath an organization and say it in a way only they could. You run the same exercises he runs with leadership teams, at your own pace, and leave with the messaging your team will actually use.

A few questions

What practitioners ask before signing up.

Do I need to be a writer?

+
No. The method is about clarifying thinking, not generating prose. Communicators, fundraisers, program directors, and executive directors all leave with a usable Throughline, whether or not they do the writing themselves.

Workshop or Trailhead, which first?

+
If you want feedback and a deadline, start with the Workshop. One live session gets your Throughline written and your Field Kit started, and the clinic two weeks later closes the loop. If you want the complete Field Kit, the Engine, and the credential at your own pace, start with the Trailhead. Many practitioners do the Workshop first, then the Trailhead to go deeper. The bundle covers both.

Can my whole team learn it together?

+
Yes, and it often produces the strongest outcome, because the Throughline is a shared artifact. Three seats from one organization in the same Workshop cohort are $675 at the founding rate, $900 after. A team that writes the Throughline together uses the same language for years. For larger groups, the Build is usually the better-shaped engagement.
For organizations

Not here to learn it yourself? Have it built with your team.

The StoryFoundry Build deploys the Throughline across a whole organization in two concentrated weeks, run with your leadership team, and delivered as five working assets your team operates from for years. It is the same method, at full depth, done with you rather than taught to you.
